What is the Iowa FFA Foundation?
Iowa FFA Foundation focuses on encouraging youth to pursue careers and
leadership roles in the agricultural industry. The foundation is a
non-profit organization that provides leadership activities,
scholarships, incentive awards, agricultural education programs, and
instructor workshops. The foundation's objective is the preparation of
Iowa's most valuable resource — its young people — to help chart the
future of our state's largest industry.
The foundation is dedicated to providing financial support for the
leadership, entrepreneurship, and educational activities of FFA members,
FFA chapters, and agricultural education programs. The Iowa FFA
Foundation leadership includes a Board of Directors, an Executive
Committee, and a Sponsoring Committee with statewide representation.
The foundation accepts financial support for the leadership fund and
worthwhile special projects. Your financial assistance will be
appreciated. Your donation is tax deductible to the full extent of the
Internal Revenue Service Code, Section 501(c)(3). The Iowa FFA
Foundation's tax exempt number is 42-1305468.
in 1986, the Iowa FFA Foundation is a non-profit foundation created to
provide financial support to agricultural education organizations in
Iowa. Originally housed at Mitchellville, the Iowa FFA Foundation has
recently moved to its new location in the FFA Enrichment Center located
on the Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) campus in Ankeny. This
move will allow the Foundation new and exciting opportunities to work
hands-on with sponsors, other industry leaders, and FFA members to
support agricultural education through leadership development and the
promotion of excellence within the agricultural industry.
The Iowa FFA Foundation works with different entities to acquire
financial support that primarily benefits educational programs developed
by the Iowa FFA Association, Iowa FFA Alumni Association, Postsecondary
Agricultural Students of Iowa, and the Iowa Association of Agricultural
Educators. The Foundation also has vital roles in supporting the
development of advanced educational programs to providing recognition of
excellence in the areas of agriscience, agribusiness, and production
agriculture. Through contributions of dedicated time and financial
resources, the Iowa FFA Foundation has strived to prepare Iowa’s most
valuable resource - its young people - by assisting in the development
of their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career
Iowa FFA Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors that develops
policies, sets priorities, and oversees the management of the
foundation. It also relies on a volunteer Sponsoring Committee
consisting of business and industry leaders to assist with securing
financial support. All volunteer members of the Board of Directors and
its committees serve without salary. The Board of Directors is composed
of agricultural business/industry representatives, agricultural
education teachers, the current and past state FFA presidents, FFA
Alumni members, Postsecondary Agricultural Students Organization (PAS)
representatives, Iowa Department of Education staff members, and the
foundation's executive director.
