Meet the Scholarships and Their Legacy

  • Dennis D. Selness Memorial Scholarship: Honors a beloved Linn-Mar agriculture educator who devoted 28 years to teaching and mentoring students. Mr. Selness established the school’s Aquaculture Center and was known for innovation in agricultural education.
  • Arthur and Susan Churchill Endowed Scholarship: Supports Iowa students pursuing agricultural degrees and honors the Churchills' commitment to cultivating leadership and academic excellence.
  • John and Sandra Bonner Endowed Scholarship: Awarded to former FFA members majoring in Agricultural Education or Special Education. This fund celebrates the Bonners' legacy of inclusion and mentorship.
  • Sinclair Tractor FFA Scholarship: Backed by Sinclair Tractor, this scholarship invests in students from their 18-county service area pursuing agricultural studies.
  • Haney Family Foundation Entrepreneurial Scholarship: Designed to support student entrepreneurs launching agriculture-related businesses. This scholarship recognizes innovation and leadership potential in young professionals.
  • Severson Family Memorial Scholarship: The Severson family’s legacy lives on through students who embody their spirit of giving back and cultivating a better future for rural communities. This scholarship honors the values of hard work, humility, and service to others.
  • Iowa HBPA Scholarship: Sponsored by the Iowa Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association, this award supports students pursuing animal science, veterinary, or equine-related fields.
