I am in FFA because I am passionate to learn and experience agriculture. I love that I can experience production agriculture, money management, and record keeping through my SAE livestock projects. I can learn about current trends and emerging issues through my involvement in career development events such as Prepared Public Speaking, Marketing Plan, and Floriculture.

I have explored my interests in marketing by researching, writing, and presenting a business plan for an agribusiness. I can develop and use my communication skills by participating in a variety of conferences and conventions with people who share my interests.

As part of FFA, I’ve enthusiastically pursued my hobby of photography and entered photos in the Iowa State Fair FFA photography competition. In my view, the most fulfilling part of FFA is that we are all part of the picture, no matter what we choose to take part in.

I was inspired at the 2015 National FFA Convention as I watched the exciting announcement of the new national officer team. Later, having the chance to meet and talk with Taylor McNeel and Nick Baker on a visit to Iowa was a definite highlight for me. National FFA Convention brought my whole FFA experience together, as seeing over 65,000 blue jackets in one place at one time was amazing.
